Extended Training for Psychology Students

240-hours intensive training + supervised internship with the opportunity to work on real cases with real clients

What are extended trainings and how are they different from psychology internships?

Most psychology students lack the skills required to work with clients directly and hence organisations are very skeptical of giving students the opportunity to practically work with real clients during internships. This negatively impacts the student’s ability to maximize his/her learnings from the internship.

Extended training has been created to address this issue with classical psychology internships.

In the first phase of the extended training, psychology students receive intensive training in specific therapeutic models that can be used with clients successfully.

In the next phase, the student gets the opportunity to conduct sessions with real clients. The sessions conducted by the psychology interns are supervised and reviewed by a mentor.

This ensures that as a responsible organisation we are not exposing clients to untrained students and at the same time the students joining the internship get practical exposure of working with clients.

How do I know what is right for me, extended training or internship?

If you are not looking for practical experience to work with clients but would like to get better conceptual clarity about certain therapeutic processes and techniques with the help of case discussions, then you should opt for psychology internships.

If you are looking to responsibly work with clients and get your work reviewed by a mentor as a part of your internship then you must opt for extended training.
